If you are anything like us, you are always on the look out for things to enhance your campervan and make life on the road just that bit more comfortable. With that in mind, we’ve been having a good look around and have tracked down some of the best campervan gadgets out there. Here are our top 10 picks!
OUR TOP 10 BEST CAMPERVAN GADGETS
1: Allocacoc PowerCube
Let me tell you about one of our own personal favourite things – a PowerCube! So, what is a Powercube, I hear you ask. Well, a Powercube is a modern twist on an extension socket. With a powercube you can power and charge all your devices (laptops, phones, cameras, etc.) at the same time! How good is that?
The Allocacoc PowerCube is an excellent space saver as you only need to utilise one three pin socket. Just take the Powercube out of the cupboard, plug it in and you have all the sockets you need. And the USB facility is absolutely invaluable! (Make sure to get the grey/white one in the link, as it has 4 standard UK three pin sockets (power outlets), two USB ports, plus a 1.5 metre extension lead!)
If you have mains hook-up, then do yourself a favour and get yourself a PowerCube. I can tell you – we definitely wouldn’t be without ours!
2: Nespresso Pixie Coffee Machine
This Nespresso Pixie Coffee Machine is another contender for one of our best campervan gadgets. I mean who doesn’t love good coffee! With this coffee machine’s small footprint you don’t have to go without coffee in your campervan.
The fast and energy efficient Pixie is ideal if you want a small yet powerful coffee machine. It reaches the ideal temperature in just 25 seconds, and at only 11 cm wide it uses hardly any space. (Its folding drip tray accommodates different cup sizes too.)
Don’t despair if you’re not using hook-up, there are plenty of folks running the Nespresso through a 1500w inverter. As the Nespresso Pixie heats the water as it goes through, it doesn’t take much out of the batteries as it’s so quick.
Each machine includes a set of 16 different Nespresso capsules, so you can soon pin down your favourites. Hmmm, how wonderful to wake up to the smell of coffee! This Nespresso Pixie Coffee Machine is an ideal buy if, like us, you enjoy your morning caffeine fix.
3: Dyson V6 Handheld Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
We’re in wish-list territory here, as I’d absolutely love one of these. No more sweeping up crumbs with a dustpan and brush or wiping pet hairs from my cushions with a damp cloth. I could easily keep everything spick and span with one of these Dyson V6’s.
The Dyson V6 Handheld Cordless Vacuum Cleaner has all the great Dyson qualities. But it also comes with the added bonus of a 12 Volt ‘in-car-charger’ – making it ideal for use in your campervan. It has a run time of up to 20 minutes and comes with an impressive accessory set too!
I reckon the Dyson V6 Handheld Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is the perfect gadget for keeping your campervan looking great wherever you are!
4: Ring RAC900 Heavy Duty Tyre Inflator
You don’t need me to tell you that properly inflated tyres improve fuel efficiency and reduce wear and tear (which of course saves you money). It also improves your motorhome’s handling and makes it safer and easier to drive too. With that in mind, may I suggest you take a look at the Ring RAC900 Heavy Duty Tyre Inflator.
With its 7 metre extendable airline, the Ring RAC900 is ideal for larger vehicles as it can stretch the full length of your motorhome or campervan. It’s also really powerful – inflating a 13inch tyre from flat in just 90 seconds!
The Ring RAC900 Heavy Duty Tyre Inflator comes with a two year guarantee, has excellent reviews (check them out for yourself) and is the perfect choice for motorhomes and campervans.
5: AUTO-VOX M1W Wireless Backup Camera Kit
At times we could all do with a little help reversing into tight spots. This becomes even more important when driving a campervan as often you have no view through the rear window. That is where this AUTO-VOX M1W Wireless Backup Camera Kit comes in.
The Auto-Vox earned its place our best campervan gadgets list as it is wireless and easy to install. (There’s no complicated wiring to worry about.) The LCD 4.3 inch rearview monitor sits on your dashboard and connects wirelessly to a backup camera installed to your existing license plate mount. Sounds good to me!
I know how handy the reversing sensor is on our car, so can just imagine how useful this AUTO-VOX M1W Wireless Backup Camera Kit would be. I must admit, I’m more than a little tempted by one of these. I guess that’s another thing to add to my wish-list.
6: Kindle Paperwhite 3G E-reader
When I am away, I like to read: there is something about chilling out with a good book that says relaxation to me. The downside of that, is that there are usually three or more books stuffed in our cupboards every trip. My pile of books takes up precious space and adds weight too. Not good when we are trying to travel light!
That’s why an E-reader seems like such a good idea. After looking at the range of E-readers out there, I decided the Kindle Paperwhite 3G E-reader could very well be on my birthday present list this year (hint, hint).
These are the features I particularly like about the Paperwhite:
- There is no glare on the screen even in bright sunlight. (Great for sitting outside to read or taking to the beach.)
- One battery charge can last weeks! (What more could you want when you are on the road.)
- You can adjust the brightness of the screen to easily read in any light. (Perfect for when I wake up in the early hours. It means I can read without disturbing ‘he who sleeps next to me’.)
- It also has Wi-Fi + free 3G. (Meaning I can download books anywhere and don’t have to find a Wi-Fi hotspot.)
The Kindle Paperwhite 3G E-reader seems like the ideal gadget to take along when you’re out exploring in your campervan. You can take a hundred books with you on the road, and they’ll hardly weigh a thing!

This Skyocean portable rechargable fan is just the job when you need cooling down in a hurry and is exactly what you need on a humid night in your campervan! It has three speed settings and a running time of between six and twelve hours when fully charged.
The fan’s compact size and the fact that it has no blades make it safe, and brilliant for travelling. It has a low noise level, and the angle of the air output can be adjusted so you can point it just where you need it. As an added bonus, the fan’s 6000mAh power bank also doubles as a cell phone charger.
The reviews for the Skyocean power bank fan are very good, and Skyocean offer a 30 day money back guarantee plus a 1 year replacement warranty too. Why on earth would you suffer with the heat when you could get yourself this nifty gadget?
8: Portable Fold Away BBQ
Who doesn’t enjoy sitting outside their campervan on a warm summer evening and eating food straight from the barbeque? Well, with this Notebook Folding Grill you’ll be able to do just that.
Just unfold the barbeque, add the wire racks and you’re pretty much good to go. And even though the Notebook grill is really compact, it still has a generous cooking area of 45cm x 30cm, more than enough room for your burgers and sausages.
When you’ve finished, the barbeque folds away completely flat, which makes it an ideal addition to your bevy of campervan comforts. I reckon this Notebook Folding Grill is just what you need for eating al fresco when you’re on the road!
